At a time when Mexican music is experiencing a truly golden moment in Spain—whether through urban sounds, regional styles, alternative music, or, of course, rock—Spanish fans have reason to celebrate: next spring, one of Mexico’s greatest rock bands, Caifanes, will be visiting us.
Caifanes shone brightly in the late ’80s and early ’90s with four albums —Caifanes, El Diablito, El Silencio, and El Nervio del Volcán— that immediately placed them among the most important Spanish-language alternative rock bands of the late 20th century. Alongside groups like Maná, they were part of a movement that proudly carried Mexican culture around the world—one that remains just as vital today.
Since reviving the project in the mid-2010s, Caifanes have not only released new material to the delight of fans worldwide but have also conquered stages across the entire American continent.
Now, in collaboration with Iglesias Entertainment, Spain’s leading independent promoter, Caifanes arrive in our country for two very special concerts. They will take place on April 24 and 26, in Barcelona and Madrid, respectively.
The creators of iconic songs such as Afuera, La Célula Que Explota, and Viento will perform at Sala Luz de Gas in Barcelona, and two days later in Madrid at Sala But, a venue with a capacity of over 1,000 people.
Their most recent tour, featuring more than 70 concerts, along with feats such as selling out Mexico City’s Palacio de los Deportes four times in a row, performing at New York’s iconic Palladium, and packing La Monumental in Tijuana, proves that Caifanes remain true music icons—transcending borders and generations of devoted fans.
